Summary:
This position is responsible for purchasing of raw materials, managing suppliers, planning jobs, release of raw materials for the planned jobs, and shipment of the completed lots consistent with cGMP for Pharmaceutical manufacturing under CFR211 guidelines.
Essential Functions:
Purchases raw materials and manages supplier relations.
Works when needed with AR Purchasing Department.
Enters all orders into Oracle system; reviews and verifies accuracy of pricing information.
Executes the entry of both commercial and developmental jobs into Oracle.
Sets up suppliers in internal systems including Oracle transactions and obtaining paperwork for finance.
Provides appropriate documentation to suppliers to be set-up in their system such as credit references.
Sets up item numbers in Oracle system.
Manages material flow/logistics (purchasing, material management, etc.
) as needed in relation to raw material and customer-supplied materials.
Conduct material planning analysis using Oracle and other data bases as needed to determine proper order quantities for all required raw material.
Receives feedback on production progress and resolves factors which affect customer ship date commitments.
Attends internal planning/scheduling meetings on a regular basis.
Provides training references for others to purchase materials, including center of information for suppliers and purchase requisition instructions, and other Oracle instruction as needed.
Ensures timely shipment of commercial and non-commercial product.
This includes oversight and coordination of actual product shipments, transportation coordination, and documentation creation.
Supports R&D and QC in sample shipment to Clients and for outside services, completes associated paperwork and scheduling.
Works with Pharmaceutical Development team and Client to determine shipping specifications and requirements for developmental products.
Serves as the knowledge center for shipping regulations and guidances, determining most optimal way to ship products.
Follows applicable QSOPs/MSOPs & DEA regulations for controlled Substance to ensure consistent, accurate and safe transport for high value, high risk (HVHR) shipments in order to meet client requirements.
Train and advises other associates on shipping procedures and requirements including shipping methods, procedures and requirements.
Contributes to the annual planning process as requested.
Follows all cGMP requirements and procedures specified for the position.
Works with other functional units to ensure identification of and compliance with best practices across planning-scheduling functions.
Applies company policies and follows safety regulations.
Supports the Operations Team by assisting in documentation review and associated Oracle transactions for each batch.

Job Specifications:
Bachelors degree in purchasing, supply chain management, related field is required with 3-5 years experience in supply chain, procurement in manufacturing preferred.
Conducts activities with professionalism and treats all associates with respect.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of clients, company, and products.
Functioning capability with standard office software (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
) Experience using MRP/ERP systems (i.
e.
Oracle) preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to comprehend and conform to ARx Quality Systems and cGMPs as outlined in 21CFR Part 211.
Familiarity with standard scheduling concepts, programs, practices, and procedures.
Strong oral and written communication with an emphasis on accuracy in calculating and reporting financial information.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities, particularly in managing and executing multiple, competing priorities.
Capable of performing a variety of complex tasks with a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
Ability to maintain flexibility in schedule and routine in response to fluctuations in production schedules.
Physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities should be expected.
