Job DescriptionSummary/objectiveThe individual is responsible for ensuring patients benefits cover required procedures and exams.
This individual contacts insruance companies to obtain private insruance benefits and authorization requirements and collaborates with individuals to educate them on their benefits and out of pocket cost.
This position is highly visible and requires effective communication skills and understanding of insurance benefits.
Position
Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent education and training.
Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed care and commercial insruance carriers billing and authorization regulations.
Two years' experience in a fast-paced medical office, hospital or outpatient clinic or healthcare setting.
Specifically, with insruance verification, Estimated cost calculation and presentation.
Must have extensive knowledge of different type of coverage and policies.
Intermediate computer and typing skills.
Excellent phone skills with emphasis on customer service Ability to multi-task, detail oriented, organized ability to maintain accurate records, work quickly to process items in a timely manner, goal oriented.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to calculate figures, and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, and volumes.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to review and interpret authorization requests/forms to identify incorrect date and have the skills to make the appropriate corrections.
Duties:
Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for obtaining verification of patient insurance benefits and eligibility for exams and procedures.
Includes all private insurances.
Accurately enter insurance information into the billing system.
Responsible for pre-certification submission, follow-up, approval accuracy and documentation into the billing system.
Calculate estimated cost for patients upcoming visits/procedures.
Contact Patients regarding financial obligations and arranging payments.
Concisely, precisely, and accurately document all information.
Maintain clear communication with patients as well as insruance companies.
Scanning insurance verification documents into patient accounts.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and center related benefits.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA guidelines / regulations.
Perform general duties as needed.
Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.

Full time, dayshift, Monday through Friday.
